During the fall of 2015, the Idaho Music Educators Association (IMEA) hosted a fall meeting at Vallivue High School, inviting music educators from all over the Treasure Valley to collaborate on many subjects of importance and events that would be happening throughout the year.

I had the opportunity to be present and be a part of the collaborative process for this particular meeting. I sat in on the middle school band meeting, which is where this artifact comes from. In this meeting, we discussed subjects such as the Southwest Middle School Honor Band, the regional Solo and Ensemble Festival, and the regional Large Group Festival.

Although I did not give any direct input at this meeting, I gained insight into how the events discussed are run, and I was given the opportunity to begin networking with other directors in the Treasure Valley area. Building those relationships gives me other directors and educators to turn to when I need assistance in some manner or another, and helps me build the resources for my classroom.
